About RFSAT and its History:

RFSAT is a university spin-off organization first established in 2008 in the United Kingdom.

It has originally concentrated on research and development through national UK research funding, industrial consultancy and deployment of research results in the telecommunications industry. The areas of activities originally included Digital Signal Processing, audio / video broadcasting and cooperation systems and GNSS positioning systems.

Recently RFSAT has concentrated on funded research activities on national UK and Greek levels as well as in European FP7 program. The list of activities has further expanded to hybrid indoor (wireless) and outdoor (GNSS with assisted and differential variants) positioning and localization systems, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), networked audiovisual systems Most recently RFSAT has been investing and exploiting its enabling technologies for application also in e-Health and Smart Energy areas.

In 2009 RFSAT has established a new Media Technologies & Performing Arts group with aim to address new technological trends in all aspects of Performing Arts, from theatre and dance to multimedia presentations, future cimena and 3D television. RFSAT applied R&D employs Virtual and Augmented Reality Systems and incorporates immersive user interfaces for developing future mobile applications and services, for application in sich areas as e-Education, e-Entertainment, e-Tourism, e-Health and others.

RFSAT is currently strongly investing into European Framework 7 (FP7) activities in the thematic areas of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Environment, Space, Transport, Security and eHealth.
